Tim McMahon is adjunct professor at both San Diego State University (Jazz Studies/Percussion)and Grossmont Junior College. Also, for more than 35 years, he has been teaching in Poway and its surrounding communities and is recognized as one of the top teachers/performers of all idioms of drums and percussion.
His private studio is currently located in El Cajon,California, conveniently located right off the Main St exit.
He has instructed many students who have gone on to have successful high school, college and professional careers.
Students can begin as early as 8 years old and adults as well are encouraged. The ages of students range from 8-68 and older. All aspects of percussion from rudiments, reading, drumset, mallets and beyond are specialized in and customized to the goals of each student. All styles of music are taught and Tim’s experience in performing in many different facets of music professionally, add an especially unique skill-set for students to learn from.
